As part of Lille Metropole 2020, World Design Capital, Muller Van Severen was invited to the iconic Villa Cavrois for an exceptional exhibition. Inspired by the modernist masterpiece by architect Mallet-Stevens, they presented a new piece, sofa cavrois.
Sofa Cavrois refers to the visual language of the wire S series but with a totally different finish and feel. Instead of a steel grid, a warm green linen fabric is used, emphasizing its unusual form. It is a sculptural piece on elegant brass legs, designed to use indoors.
This object is handmade in Belgium and has passed through the hands of many skilled artisans before arriving in our studio. Here it is meticulously finished, inspected, and carefully packed before being shipped to you.

Our love for materials is the starting point of many of our designs. We continually search for new ways to showcase their natural beauty and strive to let them speak for themselves, without concealing anything.
The frame in brass will age naturally over time. Exposure to air and touch will gradually deepen its tone, developing a rich, darker patina that enhances its rustic, industrial character. We do not recommend using furniture polishes or wax-based cleaners, as they can leave a sticky residue that attracts and traps dirt.
